Injection moulding machine maker Arburg’s Chinese subsidiary in Shenzhen celebrated the official inauguration of its new premises together with around 200 invited guests recently. The move increases the available space to 1,250 sq m. The 200 sq m demonstration room with space for three Allrounders and storage capacity for seven more injection moulding machines will help to further improve customer support and service offerings in Shenzhen.

Overseas Director Andrea Carta, who represented the German parent company at the celebrations, emphasised the importance of these new premises for even better customer support: “The move marks the beginning of a new era for Arburg in China. The two subsidiaries in Shanghai and Shenzhen will work more closely together than before and will share capacity and know how. This means that an even larger team of experts is now available to customers. Furthermore, the subsidiary Shenzhen will be the first Competence Centre for automation in China.”

He named the expansion of the machine warehouse opened in 2013 by a further 30% in order to reducing delivery times even more as further evidence of the ongoing investments in China. A range of electric, hybrid and hydraulic Allrounder machines built at Arburg’s German parent plant in Lossburg is available here, ready to be adapted to specific customer requirements in China, so that they can be quickly commissioned on-site at the customer’s premises.

“In a move to further strengthen the Chinese team, Arburg has now entrusted responsibility for the subsidiaries in Shenzhen and Hong Kong to Zhao Tong, who has successfully managed the subsidiary in Shanghai over the past ten years,” explained Andrea Carta.

With its three locations, Arburg is well represented in China. The subsidiary in Hong Kong has been in existence since 1991, while Shanghai and Shenzhen opened in 2004 and 2006 respectively. The two demonstration rooms in Shenzhen and Shanghai measure 200 sq m, for customers to inspect and test the machines, as well as use them in the context of our extensive training programme. Further facilities include hotlines staffed by experts and well-stocked spare parts stores. In order to improve application technology consulting and sales, the team was strengthened through the addition of 12 new recruits. This means that a total of 53 employees ensure pre and aftersales service in China.
